Summary

• Heirloom Acquisitions is Rick Sheldon's company. When this page says "we", it means Rick and the software he uses to run the company.
• We keep what you type into the assessment and a record of what you agreed to.
• This site sets no cookies. It runs no outside trackers, advertising pixels or analytics services.
• We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
• We keep your assessment for 24 months, then delete it, apart from the do-not-contact and call-consent records described below.

What we keep, and why

Your answers. The assessment asks 14 questions about your business, such as its size, how work is won and scheduled, what records you keep, and when you might want to sell. We use your answers to show your results. Rick reads every assessment himself.

Your contact details. Your name, email address and company, and your role if you give it. We need your email address to show your results and to send you the one email with a copy of them that you ask for. That email comes from Heirloom at results@heirloomacq.com.

Your phone number, only if you choose. The phone number is optional. We keep it only if you also tick the box that lets us call you, and we use it only for those calls.

A record of what you agreed to. For each box on the form, we keep whether you ticked it, the exact wording and version you saw, the time, and a code made from your internet (IP) address with a secret key. The address can't be read back from the code without that key, which we keep separately. The code helps us prove an agreement was real without keeping where you connected from. With that record we also keep the description your browser sends with each visit: its name and version, and your device's operating system.

A limit on repeat sends. To stop one connection from sending many assessments, we keep a second code made the same way from your IP address (for some newer addresses, from the network part only). It is deleted with your assessment.

Which link brought you here. If the link you followed carried a campaign tag (for example, that it came from one of Rick's LinkedIn posts), we keep that tag and the name of the website that sent you with your assessment, so we know which posts are useful. We keep nothing else about you from that link.

Counts. Our own server counts things like how many people opened each page and how many finished the assessment. The counts hold no names, email addresses or IP addresses.

Your results page. Your results have their own private link. The link contains no personal details, but anyone you share it with can see your results. The link stops working 90 days after you finish the assessment.

What we do not collect. This site sets no cookies and loads no Google Analytics, advertising pixels, social media trackers or outside scripts. We never put your personal details in a web address.

What happens after you finish

Rick reads your assessment. Your answers only choose which next step this page shows you; they never decide anything about you. Rick decides himself whether a conversation makes sense.

• You get your results on screen right away, and one email with a copy.
• Rick emails you personally only if you ticked that box.
• Rick, or an AI voice assistant working for him, calls you only if you ticked the call box.
• We do not add you to a newsletter or a mailing list.
• Your answers are not used to train AI and are not published or shared as research.
• No AI service sees your assessment.

Calls

If you tick the call box, Rick or an AI voice assistant working for him may call the number you gave. No call is placed under that agreement until a lawyer has approved its wording. Every call says at the start who is calling, that it is an AI assistant when it is, and that the call is recorded. We never send text messages from this form.

To stop calls, say so on any call, reply to any of our emails, or write to rick@heirloomacq.com. We honor it promptly, and never later than 10 business days. After that we keep your number on our do-not-call list so it is not called again.

Business brokers

The /brokers page asks you for nothing. If you book a call with Rick, you use his booking page (see "Booking a call"). After a call, Rick may ask whether he can share a short clip or tag you. He shares nothing without your OK.

The Deal-Flow Scorecard at /tools/broker-scorecard keeps nothing you enter and sends nothing to Rick. It has no email option.

Booking a call

Booking uses Google Calendar's booking page. Google collects the details you enter there and shares them with Rick, and Google's own privacy policy also applies.

Who handles your information for us

A few companies run parts of this for us. They handle your information only to provide their service to us.

• Replit hosts this website and its database. Like every web host, Replit's systems receive your IP address and your browser's description with each visit, and Replit keeps its own server logs and traffic statistics under its own policies. We do not add to them or combine them with anything.
• Replit also hosts Rick's private workspace, where your assessment is copied for his review, and Neon stores that workspace's database.
• Google Workspace handles our email and calendar, including the results email and any call you book.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing or for advertising. We would disclose it only when the law requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm. If Heirloom Acquisitions is ever sold or merged, your information would pass to the new owner under this same policy.

How long we keep it

• Your answers, contact details and the record of what you agreed to: 24 months from the day you submit, then deleted from this website's database and from Rick's private workspace.
• Your private results link stops working 90 days after you submit.
• If you unsubscribe or ask us not to call, we keep your email address or phone number on a do-not-contact list for at least 5 years, because deleting it could let us contact you again by mistake.
• If you agreed to calls, we keep the record of that agreement for 4 years after our last call to you.
• If you and Rick start working together, your emails with Rick are kept as ordinary business records.
• Copies in our providers' backups expire on their own schedules.

Your choices

• Stop emails and calls. Use the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or write to rick@heirloomacq.com. The link works on this site right away and stops all emails and calls from Heirloom. We stop all our email to you within 10 business days, usually much sooner.
• Stop calls. Say so on a call, reply to any of our emails, or write to rick@heirloomacq.com.
• See, correct or delete. Write to rick@heirloomacq.com. We confirm the request by writing to the email address on your assessment, then do it within 30 days and tell you when it is done.
• Change your mind. You can take back a yes at any time the same ways.

Your results never depend on ticking any box, and saying no will not change how we treat you. Depending on where you live, your state's law may give you other privacy rights. Write to us and we will honor them.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising, so these browser signals have nothing to switch off here. If your browser sends one, we treat it as a request not to be tracked, which is how this site already works.

Children

This site is for business owners and business brokers. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Keeping it safe

The site uses an encrypted connection. Your assessment is kept in a private database and is not shown on any public page, apart from your own results link. No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

Changes to this page

When we change this page, we update the date at the top. We will not use information we already hold in a new way without asking you first.
